Towards a Natural User Interface for Comprehensive Support of Conceptual Shape Design

چکیده
The lack of possibility of creative communication in the conceptualization phase of the design process significantly decreases the effectiveness. The aim of this research is to find effective non-traditional shape conceptualization techniques. The paper presents an analysis of the activities in the conceptualization process and the man–machine communication. It also shows how to evaluate and select the most efficient shape conceptualization techniques.

Background and Objective: Various aspects including the environmental burdens, social and economic consequences of the waste management(WM) scenarios must be considered to come up with a comprehensive WM plan. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach is a systematic method to quantify the environmental burdens of each WM scenario. Materials and Methods: This study used an LCA approach to develop a...
متن کاملDifferent Ways Of Shape Expression During Conceptual Design - An Empirical Study
Human-computer interaction is often a bottleneck in the application of CAD during the conceptual phases of the design process. Current CAD systems generally are not able to support conceptual design in a convenient way. Effective human-computer interaction (HCI) should allow the performance of ideating activities. An empirical study was performed to observe which activities designers naturally ...
متن کاملDialogue Models of Knowledge Intensive Assistance in Shape Conceptualisation
As once noticed in 1963 by Coons, the computer should be able to support design as a full blown assistant, a partner of the designer that actively collaborates [1]. Since the initial introduction of artificial intelligence to the field of computer-aided design and user interface research, many applications have evolved. The advent of wizards, mixed-initiative systems, and decision support syste...
متن کاملRequirements for highly interactive system interfaces to support conceptual design
During the last two decades, many breakthroughs occurred in the development of CAD systems. However, some design activities are not yet successfully supported by CAD systems. This is especially true for the conceptual phase of industrial design. In this part of the process, synthesis and creativity play an important role. Computer-aided Conceptual Design (CACD) systems are supposed to provide n...
